About
Bring Me the African Guy is a blog run by a Kenyan who doesn’t like running, isn’t a Maasai warrior, and won’t answer repeated questions about what you should do if you’re in the Serengeti and you come face to face with a lion.
You can reach me through email at: bringmetheafricanguy[at]gmail.com
Love your blog! Added it to the blogroll…hope you don’t mind.
Amandla!
Thanks. I don’t mind at all.
Great blog! Been reading for a while.
With your permission can I reblog (as a guest post) your post “Things that bug me about Kenya(ns)”. And if so, how should I identify you?
Thanks for reading the blog, Sean. I frequent Africa Is A Country and I love the work your crew is up to. Sure, you can reblog that post. Identify me as Kweli. Again, thanks.
Got it.
Hi. Can I also reblog your post on Kenya(ns)?
@akenyan girl,
Go for it. And be ready to defend yourself from those who think being Kenyan is all about kufuata nyayo.
Do you tweet?
No, I don’t. But I have been reading people’s tweets a lot lately, especially @tejucole. I think I don’t tweet because I’d have a tweet up every five minutes, like I did facebook status updates till I quit facebook.
Lost your blog link (in one of my many tabbed windows) when I got the spinning wheel of death. Somehow I had shared this link with someone else and they asked me to check out the Afro-Colombian song you posted. Will be reading your posts from A-Z.
Kabinti,
How have you been? I thought you had a blog(?), but clearly you didn’t link it on this comment.
Anyway, I’m glad you stopped by. Keep in touch.
Thanks for your blog.
nice blog!
Danke schon.
Here’s to the only blog that i frequently check out…
I really enjoyed your article on Kenya becoming paranoid. I posted it on my Facebook so other people my age (early 20s) can find you. We’re getting more politically conscious, and you’re more objective than the newspapers
Thank you!
Rehema,
Thanks for reading and posting it on your Facebook. I have gotten a ton of hits from Facebook and I didn’t know who did it (*detective eyes*) because I quit Facebook a long time ago.
I’ve been blogging here awhile. Every now and then I blog about Kenyan politics and history, but most times I indulge my infantilism *sheepish grin*. Sawa: maybe if I know your upstanding friends are reading on here, there will be fire on my butt to write more serious. You might also want to check out Keguro’s blog and writings on this whole Somalia affair here: http://gukira.wordpress.com/2011/10/24/credible-threat/
Ahsante.
Great blog man, this I’m following. I love your style …some Facebook friend recently told me “I wish I was born there, seeing zebras and elephants outside my window daily … I’d have numerous poems ” your Bio reminded me of that. I’ve only seen Zebra crossings.
“I have only seen zebra crossings.”
I love this. Funny as hell. Thanks for following the blog.
Great blog man. You have some really great skills, and of course stories to tell. Do you play cricket ?
That’s the first thing comes to my(Indian) mind about Kenya. Nice blog anyway.
The last time I played cricket was the 5th grade.
1. Thanks for publicly writing – I find it a highly brave thing to do.
2. GREAT “About”! It really made me laugh, and I don’t laugh often.
3. I loved going to Kenya and actually seeing zebras on the countryside roads, hope to learn a bit about your country reading this thing…
4. Zizek is amazing! He’s too crazy good to actually exist.
Please keep up the blogging
I’m glad I “bumped” into your blog. Really great writing, I’ve gone through all the posts. Thank you for the beautifully woven stories, for giving us snippets of your life and for sharing your opinions. Keep on.
GREAT GREAT blog! I declare that I am your biggest fan!!!
